KAM Transport NZ started in 1989 with one purpose: moving meat from Wellington City Abattoir to local outlets.
Thirty-six years on, the family-owned business runs more than 90 trucks from Auckland to Christchurch, specialising in refrigerated logistics for meat, produce, and aquaculture.
“We’ve invested a significant amount into managing our environmental impacts however we can” explains GM Bill Bamber (pictured).
The sustainability credentials are notable: KAM holds Toitū enviromark gold certification two years running, the only transport and logistics company of its kind in the country to currently do so.
A 16% reduction in carbon emissions was achieved through bigger loads, fewer trips, and a driver rewards programme.
In 2025, KAM fronted Transporting New Zealand’s Green Fleet Assessment Tool.
