KAM Transport is looking for a dedicated and experienced class 5 operator to join our Christchurch based driving team. Trading as KAM Transport, you may also recognise our vehicles with Brenics livery – an important part of our network in the South Island.
About the Role:
Based in Christchurch, you will predominantly be travelling between Christchurch and Nelson, with a variety of other routes on offer when freight demand requires it. The nature of the freight we transport requires start times to vary, start times are mainly in the afternoon.
Operating a curtain side truck & trailer at up to 54T, you will be transporting a range of different products from Chilled/Frozen to general freight. The vehicle is a 2021 Freightliner Argosy with a road ranger transmission – the successful applicant must have experience in operating a road ranger.
About You:
We are looking for a capable and physically fit operator, who can work independently and within a small team.
The successful candidate must have experience on a forklift and be able to load and unload in a safe and efficient manner.
You must have proven linehaul experience, and the ability to manoeuvre a truck and trailer backwards with ease.
Clean license with no at fault accident history – declaration of demerit points required.
Declaration of physical fitness required and any Criminal history.
We have a Drug and Alcohol Policy that requires a preemployment test. You will be required to use eLogbook and electronic transport management (sign on glass)
Cleaning the inside and outside of the units is a daily/ weekly requirement. Operate in a safe manner and focus on keeping your team and our community safe.
Must be a New Zealand resident.
